About me
More than 30 years ago, I discovered spray paint and, with it, the art of public space. Originally from Karlsruhe, I began creating works there that continue to shape the cityscape to this day. I soon began working around the world, and over time, the projects grew larger and larger. On building facades, I use stencils, spray paint, brushes, and paint rollers to create impressive works of art that span multiple stories.
The central theme of my work is the human being. Inspired by shadow theater, I came up with the idea in 2011 to depict the human body in black. This gave my art a high degree of recognizability, which also opened up formal freedom for me to bring my ideas to life.
In 2023, I changed the skin color from black to yellow, and I’m experimenting with other color variations.
Inspired by geometry and architecture, I have previously incorporated floral patterns, as well as consoles and altar structures, into my work. Recently, I have been presenting my figures in landscapes composed of colorful, geometrical color fields arranged in a row. Fragmentation gives rise to dynamic and multi-layered works.
In my studio, I develop concepts for facade designs, paint canvases, build sculptures, and plan future art projects and exhibitions.
